Thanks again, Jose, for all your help in arranging a surprise birthday cruise for my wife! This being our first cruise and my wife had no idea and was very surprised. Naturally there was more than a little concern on my part that everything would be taken care of efficiently. You had no problem answering all of my questions and even making suggestions of how to be better prepared for our trip. My fears were soon put to rest. Then when complications arose from our end and required multiple phone calls to you with questions, as well as additional arrangements, you were always friendly, willing and ready to help!
Thank you! It was a great trip! We had such a good time, and since our needs were anticipated in advance, it left us to just enjoy being with each other! See ya next time! We’ll be back for our anniversary!

I have to say I wasn’t expecting much since this was a smaller cruise. I liked the idea of a short cruise and gave it a try.
The service was inpeccable and I never had so much fun. We played Bingo, I won $900,- and in the Casino i won $500,-. I have to say lady luck was definitely by my side.
The crew was very attentive and everytime i left my room when I came back everything was organized and re-filled. The gourmet dining was supurb.
I will absolutely come back and bringmy friends with me next time.

We just arrived from our 2 night Bahamas cruise. We came down to visit Florida and decided to take a short cruise while we were here. We strongly recommend Imperial Majesty, the staff was fantastic, and the food was impeccable. We enjoyed the music and the remainder of the trip we just simply relaxed. The perfect short cruise on a weekend.
Thank You Imperial Majesty,

I took the august 18th 2008 - august 20th 2008 cruise and I wanted to share my review!
This was not my first cruise, back in april 08 I went on the carnival fascination, and so knowing that this was a smaller cruise line, I was expecting much less . However, I am very impressed ! The food was pretty good, and the waiters were great . Every time we came back to our room, it was clean ! Very nice ! However, when we arrived in the Bahamas, it was delayed about an hour and a half, cutting back our time quite a bit. The weather was very rainy, and the upper deck was very wet. I saw a lot of people lose their balance, and I felt myself walking very carefully because with all the water, it was very dangerous. Most of the wait staff was very nice, however everyone else (gift shop, information desk ect) was VERY rude . Getting off the ship was also delayed an hour and a half. Very unorganized - made us get out of the rooms by 8:15 , but did not get off the boat until nearly 10:30 , so over 700 guests stood in the hallways with their luggage the entire time. Once we trie!
d to get off the boat, one of our friends had lost their room key. And , instead of charging to their account as the announcement said they would, we were forced to wait an additional 30 minutes to leave the boat.
Overall , I did enjoy this trip. And, I would consider eventually cruising with Imperial Majesty again.
*** out of 5 stars .
Thanks for the excellent service Cesar

We were a bit nervous about the cruise since we had been on a larger ship before and didn’t know what to expect. When we entered the ship we came to appreciate it’s charm and history immediately.
The only thing that really stood out to us was the old ship smell and the wait at the port. Besides that the staff was extremely friendly, the fine dining - delish and the music very appropriate and enjoyable for a Bahamas Cruise. We also enjoyed the shows cast delivering an excellent performance. Wait until to get to dinner time. Let’s just say it might start quiet with a nice surprise at the end fit for everyone. We loved Nassau and definitely recommend this short getaway.

Great! Worth it!
We were on our first cruise and were really excited by the elegance and old-world charm of the Regal Empress. We were quickly through the boarding and passport clearance. We were met by the staff and escorted to our cabin by a staff member. Our cabin was small with a double bed but had plenty of storage with a large closet and bureau. We had a small bathroom with shower.
The buffet as we set sail was excellent. The staff were always smiling and worked very hard to make things go nicely. We attended all of the singing/dancing shows in the evenings and we were very impressed with those and the grand lounge was quite elegant. A cabin steward came in and turned our bed down each night for us and was a nice touch!
The dinners and meals in the Caribbean Dining Room were remarkable! Five-course meals with exotic choices and always a “catch of the day”… the sea bass was delicious and the salmon was also!
We took the glass bottom boat tour and afternoon at Cables Beach. They were okay but I wish we had just gotten a cab and gone to Atlantis as some of our dinner partners did. They were very impressed and the cabs cost no more than the ferries. This really was well worth the experience.
The disembarkation was hot and seemed to take forever though it really only took about 1 hour and 1/2.
The dining room was nice and did have good food however.
Thanks Martin

Aug 24, 2008 We got aboard the Regal Empress through Ramada Vacation Packages. Yes, we had to sit through a two hour time-share spiel, but the company was really great when we declined.
We arrived at the Regal Empress, dock 4 about 1230p, Customs was rough, as the x-ray technician for the luggage had to be brand new as he kept backing items up, and this would cause bowls of change, luggage, and whathaveyou to fall onto the floor, leaving the next person in line to be kind enough to pick your stuff up and put it back on the rollers. There were two tables on the other side, for when they found alcohol in your bag they could confiscate it. There are baggage handlers to take your luggage to your cabin, but they expect a tip now. The line then moved to room keys where they checked your tickets and passports, then to meal services, where you chose your meal time. We chose the early 615p rather than the late 830p. From there we had our photo taken and passed through the bridge way onto the boat. We were welcomed on the Restaurant deck and a steward wearing white gloves showed us how to get to our cabin.
Our cabin was M-10, main floor. Our cabin was a nice size, a queen bed and a single, as well as the hideaway bed on the wall. The bathroom was tiny, but had everything we needed. There was plenty of storage spaces, a three drawer chest next to the queen bed, and next to the other two was another three drawer chest. There were four closets, each with two small drawers and a storage area above. We then went to the pool deck and ate lunch: salad, pizza, hamburgers. The free drinks on board were coffee, orange juice, fruit punch, and milk. We explored the ship awaiting the 5p send off; however, someone had a medical emergency and we were late about an hour departing. The Bahama Mama’s were delightful.
Dinner service was fabulous! Our waiter was Rodrigo from the Philippines. The other family dining with us had a birthday on the 26th, mine was the 27th, and Rodrigo made us each feel extremely special with cakes and a song on the 27th. The menu each night had something for everyone. The catch of the day was raved on by one person at our table, and another had the chicken choice both nights. The second night was the formal night, and Prime Rib was the pick of the table. It was served to each of our likings.
Our TV received a few stations TNT, TNT, CNN, and the Fort Lauderdale cable station, CBS perhaps? ESPN was extremely fuzzy, however the Disco Lounge had a huge theater screen with ESPN on it, so we stopped in there to catch a basketball game. No drink service in here, but if you went across the hall to the Grand Lounge and out the back doors, go up the steps one deck, you’re at the pool bar.
Debarkation went relatively smooth. Everyone was told to be out of the cabins by 815am and wait in the Grand Lounge, where Bingo was happening, or at the pool area. While we were in the Lounge we could see we were coming into port. However, once Bingo was over, the crew members disappeared and everyone was left to amuse themselves. Then the page was made at 945 we could disembark. Everyone seemed to get up at the same time, and exit routes that the cruise ship team wanted you to take were not clearly marked, perhaps crew members blocking the incorrect ways that doors could not be closed. We were off of the ship by 1000a. Getting through the customs building was slightly longer, as they had two lines, one for USA passports and another for foreign passports. Our traveling companion was waiting at the pool (so he could smoke, of course) and he was waiting for us when we finally got through customs at 1115a. The parking fee was $30 for two days at the garage at the port.
Our Shore Excursion was a Limo tour of the city of Nassau. It was $35 for each of us and it took us to Fort Fin Castle and the water tower, where a wonderful guide spoke proper English, and the Queens Staircase and from there we toured the different social class homes and various beaches on the island. We had two ladies from British Columbia with us, and they were taking the combo-tour with the Glass bottom boats after wards. We then walked Bay Street and ate lunch at Athenos, a wonderful Greek restaurant that overlooks Bay Street.
out of 5 stars we give it 3 1/2 ****

This was our first cruise ever, got to the dock for boarding a little late (We were driving from Orlando to Ft Lauderdale.) The staff on the ground had to ask us to calm down & tell us that they were not going to leave w/o us. We had to submit our credit card for billing on board as they did not accept cash on board. Did not have time to take a picture before getting on the ship (due to our timing) & they only had 1 time for Dinner reservations for the whole ship. We took our own luggage to the room, we were however assisted by our Stewart Lindy (who by the way took great care of us!) Then made our way up to wait for clearance. From the moment we boarded the staff were very friendly constantly asking if we needed a drink, H20 or juice. (At times thought I had wished they would just stop being so hospitable.) Dinner in the Carribean Dining room was out of this world! Very top notch with a dash of comedy to help you relax & get to know your dining mates. As for the menu choices, there were enought so we all got to try something new or memorable to the taste buds. I don’t know where they got their cooks from but they were the best! Afterwards, we changed & found that our Stewart Lindy had already seen to our bedding needs, (we opted for bunk beds & no TV, as we didn’t see the need, we were on VACATION after all!) Got back to the party, to a great night of Karoke, a musical show, dance contest, midnight buffet (Itailan) for me. And quite time for Sean while he caught up on his reading on the sun deck, with the wind in his hair. By the time we were ready to sleep, we found the beds quite soft, & the pillows just firm enough. Not much rock or sway in the ship and a slight vibration in its movement (Which Sean did not get quite used to.) The next day up before dawn, we did find some crew members just getting up, starting to get breakfast & coffee on as we saw our first sunrise over the ocean (Quite a sight to see) As for the rest of the day compared to this it was just a grand. We had decided to catch a local tour company as we got off the ship for a price we “negotiated” & were dropped off after the tour @ the local beach on Paradise Island. The trip back by taxi was only $4.00 pp! (If your not into sudden stops or near misses you may want to sit in the back of the van!) On board they had light snacks ready for us which was good. I was afraid to eat any of the local cuisine. Followed by a great dinner & fantastic desert show. We originally thought this trip was going to not be very good since Hurricane Ike was in the process of hitting the gulf region, but we had no rain, no cold weather and nothing more than an occasionally strong wind in the front of the ship. Not a lot of rocking or swaying once you got use to the normal movement of the ship which was light. Did not get “sea sick” enough to take any meds a 7-10 min rest was enough to catch up (& probably too much excitement with all the things to do after the initial bingo game, when we left port.) Departure went smooth enough 1 last bingo game a little conversation with those around you and then all those with their own luggage got to go. Customs was nice enough, directed those of us with lots of luggage to the elevators. The guard’s dog on the main floor was nicer than he was, and we were in the parking lot getting ready to drive back to Orlando to drop off the rental & fly back home before I was ready to go. I really enjoyed myself & so did Sean but next time we do want a single bed we can share & a few more days @ sea. Met a lot of great people & I’m planning a cruise for next year already. (We plan to bring a few more “land locked” rookies to see a sunrise & be treated oh so nicely) Thank You Lindy & M/V Regal Empress.

Two friends and I decided to take this cruise over the summer. This was my first time on a cruise and it was great. One of my friends won $1000 in the casino and the dining experience was wonderful. The only concern I had was when we returned to FL. Each passenger with their luggage was forced to leave their rooms and wait in the hallways and Grand Lounge. I believe the stress of the Debarkation would have been greatly reduced if everyone’s luggage was taken off the ship for them as it was brought on the ship for everyone. I can understand the need to have everyone out of their rooms for cleaning and the employees feeling the pressure from all of the passengers complaining but a better systems needs to be put in place upon the return. Why taint a wonderful cruise experience with poor Debarkation methods and rudely stressed customer service on the return.

This was our first cruise and we loved it. The meals and entertainment were really good. The best part was snorkeling on the excursion to the Blue Lagoon. We would recommend this vacation to others definitely.

When I mentioned to several people that I was going on the Regal Empress, I heard comments such as, “I would never go on a ship that old,” or, “You get what you pay for.” I strongly urge anyone apprehensive about the ship for these reasons to reconsider. Regal Empress appeared to be well maintained, and was just as clean, if not cleaner, than the newer ships on which I’ve cruised. And, in these days of deep discounting, passengers can easily find a comparably priced cruise, although additional charges so prevalent on other lines were negligible on Regal. Yes, there were some areas in need of improvement, but I have yet to find a ship that excels in every area.
I still enjoy the new ships, and there are several that I would like to try. But, it is nice to know that I can “come home” to the Regal Empress, to experience the beauty of an actual ocean liner while being isolated from the real world for a few days. After all, that is why I fell in love with cruising in the first place.

Our dinner was at 730 where we sat at a large table with 3 other couples, the dining room is one of the nicest rooms on the ship and i was very surprised with dinner. I ordered steak both nights i think the first night was thinly sliced rib eye it was very very good way better then i expected, and the desert on this ship was amazing very good quality deserts. Later that night we went to the karaoke which was pretty funny and we saw the show which wasn’t bad, lower quality then on royal caribbean but I’m not complaining. Then we went to the casino which was pretty busy up until around midnight.
The following day we were off of the ship most of the day in Nassau Bahamas and went to atlantis and senor frogs, had a good little time. Went back on the ship and waved Nassau goodbye as we sadly sailed back for fort lauderdale “what a fast trip!” quickly got ready for dinner and once again i was very impressed and the second night i decided to go to the midnight buffet which was mexican night and wasn’t bad i was happy with it, at least i didn’t have to fight in line like you do with the larger cruise ships. Then being the cruiser i am when i went to my room i had to try room service at least once, ordered a turkey sandwich and some iced tea, basic but fine. On the last morning we ate breakfast at the buffet which was pretty yummy and waited to leave the ship, we got right off.
Overall I would say this was a great little cruise and we really had a fun time, this was my gf’s first cruise and she had a blast, soo much to do not enough time in the day.

Me and my fiancé had a blast on our cruise to Nassau, Bahamas. What kept us busy was the frequent buffet. The evening dinning was exquisitely catered with warmth and festive hospitality. I personally liked our waiter by the name Sanjay, he was very accommodating. The only problem I had was the rooms were to small and I recommend a bigger one with a better view if we or anybody decides to board on this ship.
I was hoping to see more interactive games or activities for couples or even single vacationers. My fiancé enjoyed the karaoke and I “LOVED” the night club.

I have cruised extensively on different cruise lines
and I found the Regal Empress quite enjoyable. It is not as elegant as some, but the food was excellent, the service also. It is a small ship, but found I enjoyed that more. The cabins were small, but that didn’t matter, because you were hardly ever in them . The entertainment was good and the costumes were beautiful. If you are looking for a short get-away vacation, this is great. I am glad I didn’t listen to the negative reviews. There are some people you can’t please no matter what you do. Obviously, some of these critiques were made by people who have never been through the disembarkation process before, it is the same on all cruise ships. The ship was clean, the staff excellent and the price was right. If you want to pay the outrages prices on other cruise lines, me my guest. Would I go again, you bet I would.!!!

I had a great time on this old style ocean liner, converted to a cruise ship. I have sailed on some big ships to the Mexican Riviera and some old ships to Ensenada from LA and in the Andaman Sea off Thailand. I enjoyed Regal Empress for it’s smallness in contrast to the 5 star ships where the ocean seems far away and size and luxury counts more. I do wish Regal Empress had a louder ship’s horn like the old Queen Mary in Long Beach.
Regal Empress has two fine enclosed deck lounges with tables and chairs and even a sofa or two where you can watch the sea go by or have casual conversation. I met two delightful couples from Australia who were all formerly Welsh and Scottish people like I. The dinning room is classic style like Titanic, I think, and the food is excellent as were the largely Filipino waiters and servers. My Chinese girlfriend, the most critical of travelers, was pleased which made my trip much better for me. She likes to stay away from my adventure trips whenever possible.
The ship put on a fine musical review with talented and good looking performers from the Ukraine and Romania. I made some money at blackjack while Emily worked the slots and bingo. I shared my table winnings with Susan, my cute lounge waitress, on whom I got an immediate crush .

Hello “Concerned”:
Let me start of by saying: Don’t believe anything you read especially on the internet.
I have traveled with Imperial Majesty Cruise Line quite a few times have always received excellent service. I have to tell you that this is not a luxury cruise so if you expect rock climbing, huge state rooms, water slides and all the luxuries this cruise probably isn’t for you. They do offer a casino and other activities, I particularly enjoyed the live entertainment by the pool side.
The rooms might be a bit small but if available you can ask for a larger room such as those with a jacuzzi. This should not be an issue since you will only be sleeping in the room. I would think you would want to enjoy the ocean breeze and not go on a cruise to get cabin fever.
This is an older ship with beautiful wood panels inside and excellent service and food I must say. So if you are looking for a short cruise to get a feel of what cruising is about, I say for the price you can not beat this. The ship has been remodeled to meet the modern standards yet still maintains it’s historic charm going back in the 1950’s. Ships like this are not around anymore and for those of us who appreciate the finer things in life it sure is a shame to be hearing rumors of retirement.
Rumor has it that the ship might be replaced in 2009 so therefore if they are true you will be sailing on a newer ship, however I am certain that the service and amenities will be as impeccable if not even better.
I will be cruising with Imperial Majesty Cruise Line again next year and will probably post an update.
I hope this helped…
Cheers

We would be Happy to answer any of your concerns regarding the cruise Brenda. Please forward all your questions to blog@imperialmajestyreviews.com
In reference to the Better Business Bureau that number unfortunately has come to exist due to the 98% of people who have not traveled but read bogus reviews online by companies such as Rip Off Report and either cancelled their cruise plans with the company.
Research Rip Off Report and you’ll see what they are really all about ” A Rip Off”.
We are here to help you.

Enjoyed reading the reviews. We love to cruise because we are seniors and that is the easiest vacation for us.
However, we live in Oregon and that is far to travel for just a two day cruise. An older ship does sound interesting though.
